ENGLISH 2: Past Simple

Yesterday ↩️, one 1️⃣ month 🗓️ago, last winter 🌨️❄️, in 2005... What do they have in common? 🤔 They are expressions that refer to the past ⏪.

Today we are going to learn 👩‍🏫 the Past  Simple Tense ⏪. Some of you already know 🧠 things about it, but we need to revise it ✔️. First ☝️, you need to watch 👀two 2️⃣ videos 🎥:

⚠️ Be careful! Regular verbs just need -ED to be formed 👍. Irregular verbs are more difficult 👎. You need to check ✔️ the irregular verb list 📃 (pages 141-142 from our book 📗)!

🚨 Regular verbs:

She painted 🖌️ the walls in 2012.
I listened 🎧 to the music yesterday.
You watched 👀 Spiderman 🕷️👨 two weeks ago.

🚨 Irregular verbs:
We saw 👀 your cousin 5 days ago.
They ran 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ a race three months 🗓️🗓️🗓️ ago.
He swam 🏊‍♀️ in the swimming pool last summer 🏖️.

As you can see 👁️👁️, irregular verbs are similar to the infinitive (see-saw 👀, run-ran 🏃‍♀️, swim-swam 🏊‍♀️).
With 👉 this game, learning 🙇‍♀️ the Past Simple ⏪ will be much easier 👍!
